Combined correction of the inner and outer labia

In addition to the reduction of the labia minora, for example, there is often a reduction (atrophy) of the labia majora, so that an enlargement operation of the labia majora by means of autologous fat transplantation will lead to a harmonious and aesthetically better result. Maintaining sensibility (touch sensitivity) is, of course, the first priority in every surgical procedure.

Not only too large labia minora, but also too small labia minora can be a cause for discomfort or dissatisfaction. The labia majora have a meaning in the protection of the female genitalia, especially by padding the labia minora and the vagina to the outside. Due to congenital predisposition or loss of structural fat deposits as part of the aging process, the outer or large labia can shrink and lose their protective function. In addition to the functional impairment the aesthetic appearance can also be disturbed by a shrinkage of the labia majora and a cause for dissatisfaction and shame.

Methods for more volume in the labia majora

The goal of a surgical procedure to correct small labia minora is to return this volume. This can be achieved on the one hand by the injection of hyaluronic acid fillers. The disadvantage, however, is that this represents only a temporary solution, since the filler degrades again and the treatment would have to be repeated.

Fat tissue is not only the cause of unwanted and unsightly fat deposits, but also gives volume, contours and structure in the right places. So too on the labia majora. The volume is achieved by so-called structural fatty tissue. It is a basic principle of plastic and aesthetic surgery to restore “something alike with something similar“. Therefore reproduction of the outer labia through a autologous fat transplant volume makes sense.

Sustainable labia correction through autologous fat

In this case, fat is suctioned in an operation from a suitable body site. However, this is not discarded as in a conventional liposuction, but collected in a sterile and closed system and prepared for transplantation. In the next step, the thus prepared fatty tissue is then introduced 3-dimensionally into the labia majora by means of very fine canulas, in order to restore volume and structure to it. Since the transplanted fat comes from your own body, it will grow with proper technique. Since the initial postoperative volume gain is not fully mediated by the transplanted fat but is also due to the fluid of the tumescent solution and the local swelling, the volume will decrease by 40% -50% within six weeks. As overcorrections should be avoided, it may be necessary to repeat the procedure until a result that fits your needs is reached.
